Writing Resources

Here’s a list of resources that will help you improve your writing and writing practices. You may find some essential for citation work and peer review, such as Purdue OWL and the Pace PLV Writing Center.

  • Purdue OWL: Style guides for MLA and APA citation formatting, as well as assistance with grammar and mechanics.
  • Grammar Girl: Quick and dirty tips on grammar and mechanics.
  • Beeline Reader: A tool to help increase your attention and speed while reading.
  • The Top Twenty: The top twenty errors likely to be found in undergraduate writing, and most likely to attract negative attention from readers.
  • Pace PLV Writing Center: Located in 15B Miller Hall, the Writing Center offers free one-on-one tutoring. Tutors will help you with any writing assignment at any stage of your writing process, but they will not edit your work for you. Make sure to bring a copy of our specific assignment sheets, so the tutors can better help you. (You must schedule appointments online, which means creating an account in the scheduling system.) The Writing Center also has a YouTube channel where you’ll find videos and recordings of workshops.
  • Pace PLV Learning Assistance Center: Located on the third floor of Mortola Library. Click here for information about online appointments.
