Tech Guides
The Writing Studies Program at Pace PLV is currently holding all first-year writing courses fully online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Online courses necessarily rely on more technology than face-to-face courses do, but both modalities tend to presume that students understand and are skilled with the technology when this may not be the case. In the interest of establishing equity, this guide presumes you might have little familiarity with the platforms we’ll be using and is meant to be used as both a startup guide and a cheat-sheet to reference if you forgot a command or how to do something. The platforms and programs we’ll be using for this class include: D2L Classes, Zoom, Slack, Course Blog, Google Docs, and Microsoft Word. I’ve provided a basic overview of each platform with a focus on the questions and problems students tend to have with each.
